I built NikaQuant because I was tired of staring at MetaTrader 5 backtest reports and pretending I could evaluate a strategy from a single equity curve and a profit factor number. Every algo trader I know has been there — you run an optimization, get 10,000 parameter combinations back, and somehow need to decide which ones are worth risking real money on.

The standard MT5 report gives you maybe 15 statistics. That's not enough. It doesn't tell you whether your strategy survives different market regimes. It doesn't show you how sensitive your results are to broker conditions. It doesn't warn you that your “profitable” system is actually a martingale with a 95% chance of blowing up.

NikaQuant Strategy Analyzer was built to answer these questions — all of them — in a single browser session with zero data leaving your machine. Here's what it does and how to get the most out of it.

Who This Is For

NikaQuant is designed for three types of traders:

If you build or trade Expert Advisors on MetaTrader 5, this tool was made for you.

What’s New: Five Phases of Major Upgrades

The analyzer started as a scoring engine with a handful of pages. Over five intense development phases, it's grown into something I genuinely didn't expect — a comprehensive analysis platform with 44 dedicated pages. Here are the highlights:

AI Narrator & Strategy DNA Fingerprint

Instead of making you interpret dozens of metrics yourself, the AI Narrator generates a natural-language briefing for every strategy. It reads your data the way an experienced quant would — identifying strengths, flagging risks, and explaining what the numbers actually mean in plain language.

The Strategy DNA Fingerprint distills your strategy's characteristics into a radar visualization. At a glance, you can see whether you're looking at a scalper, a trend follower, a mean-reversion system, or something more exotic. It also powers the auto-matching system that compares your results against known strategy archetypes.

Broker Cost Analyzer

Your backtest ran with 10-point spread on XAUUSD. Your live broker charges 25 points during London session. Does your edge survive? The Broker Cost Analyzer lets you model different spread, commission, and slippage scenarios and see exactly how they affect your bottom line. This is the analysis that separates paper profits from executable ones.

Confidence Calibration & Auditable Scoring

Every strategy receives a verdict — one of eight named decision states from “Strong Deploy” to “Hard Reject.” But I didn't want this to be a black box. The Confidence Calibration page shows you exactly how each sub-score (Profitability, Stability, Consistency) contributes to the final verdict, with full weight transparency and scoring gate breakdowns.

Drawdown Analysis, Walk-Forward Matrix & More

The dedicated Drawdown page goes far beyond max drawdown percentage. It maps every drawdown period, calculates recovery times, and models worst-case scenarios through Monte Carlo simulation.

The Walk-Forward Matrix splits your backtest into in-sample and out-of-sample windows, testing whether the optimization actually generalizes or just curve-fits. The Regime Detection system identifies different market conditions within your backtest period and shows how your strategy performed in each one.

Other additions include Strategy Templates with automatic pattern matching, enhanced multi-strategy comparison, a full trade journal, time-of-day heatmaps, and an export system that packages your entire analysis into a shareable report.

How the Analysis Works

The workflow is deliberately simple:

  1. Upload your MT5 data. Drag in an optimization XML file (for multi-pass analysis) or a single-run XLSX report (for individual strategy deep-dives). The parser handles both formats automatically.
  2. Get an instant verdict. The scoring engine evaluates your strategy across profitability, stability, consistency, and risk dimensions. You get one of eight decision states — a clear recommendation you can act on.
  3. Deep dive into 44 pages. Every page focuses on a specific analysis dimension. Ranking, equity curves, drawdown analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, broker cost modeling, walk-forward validation, regime detection, parameter sensitivity, trade-by-trade logs, and more.
  4. Compare and stress-test. Load multiple strategies side by side. Model different broker conditions. Run forward-test simulations. Export everything when you're ready to share with your team or prop firm.

The entire process takes seconds for the initial verdict and minutes for a complete deep-dive. There's no waiting for server-side processing because there is no server — everything runs in your browser.

The 44-Page Breakdown

Here's what you get access to across the analyzer:

Every page is interactive. Charts respond to filters, tables are sortable and searchable, and cross-references link related insights across pages.

Privacy: Your Data Never Leaves Your Browser

This was a non-negotiable design decision from day one. NikaQuant runs 100% client-side. When you upload a file, it gets parsed and analyzed in your browser's memory. Nothing is sent to any server. There are no user accounts, no cloud storage, no analytics tracking on your trading data.

Why? Because trading strategy data is some of the most sensitive information a trader possesses. Your optimization results contain your edge — the specific parameters and conditions that make your strategy profitable. I wouldn't trust that to a third-party server, and I don't expect you to either.

Your browser is the analysis engine. Close the tab and the data is gone. It’s that simple.

Getting Started

The analyzer includes a built-in demo mode with sample data, so you can explore all 44 pages without uploading anything. When you're ready to analyze your own strategies, just drag and drop your MT5 export files.

The free tier gives you access to the core analysis pages. The Pro tier unlocks everything — all 44 pages, AI Narrator, Broker Cost Analyzer, Walk-Forward Matrix, Monte Carlo simulation, and the full export system.
