The short version. Pro comes with a 7-day trial. Card required. Cancel before day 8 and you pay nothing. Premium has no trial. Every paid subscription gets a 14-day money-back guarantee from your first paid charge. No reason needed. If the Verdict engine doesn't pay for itself in a week, leave. Approved refunds are issued within 5 business days. After the 14 days, cancel any time to stop the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your statutory rights apply on top of all this.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service (nikaquant.com/terms/). If the two ever conflict on refunds or cancellation, this policy wins. Nothing in it limits any right you have under the law where you live.
1.1 "NikaQuant", "we", "us" means [Legal entity name], [Registered address], [Company registration number]. "You" means the person or business that holds the NikaQuant account and pays for the subscription.
1.2 This policy covers paid subscriptions to the NikaQuant app at app.nikaquant.com (including its Journal, Tracker and Arena front doors): the Pro plan ($39/mo) and the Premium plan ($79/mo). Plans are billed monthly. There are no annual plans.
1.3 It does not cover:
1.4 Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
2.1 Card required. To start the Pro trial you enter a payment card at checkout. You are not charged during the trial.
2.2 Cancel before day 8, pay nothing. Cancel any time during the 7 trial days (see section 7) and your card is never charged for Pro.
2.3 Auto-converts on day 8. If you do not cancel, the trial converts to a paid Pro subscription on day 8 and your card is charged $39 (plus any applicable tax, see section 12). It then renews every month at $39 until you cancel.
2.4 Reminder. We email you before the trial ends to remind you that it will convert unless you cancel. Not getting the email does not change when the trial ends, so put day 8 in your calendar.
2.5 One trial per customer. The trial is for new Pro customers. We may refuse a second trial to the same person, card or account.
2.6 Premium has no trial. Premium is charged from the day you subscribe. The 14-day money-back guarantee in section 3 still covers your first Premium charge if it is your first paid charge.
3.1 What you get. If you ask within 14 days of your first paid charge, we refund that charge in full. No reason needed. We may ask what didn't work for you, but answering is optional and does not affect the refund.
3.2 When the 14 days start. The clock starts on the date of your first paid charge, not the date you started a trial. For a Pro trial, that is normally day 8, the day the trial converts. For Premium, it is the day you subscribe. The request must reach us by the end of the 14th day after that charge.
3.3 Who qualifies. The guarantee applies once per customer: to the first paid subscription charge on your account. It covers Pro or Premium, whichever you paid for first. If you already used it, or already had a paid NikaQuant subscription before, later charges are not covered by the guarantee (your statutory rights in section 11 are not affected).
3.4 What it does not cover.
3.5 Partial use is fine. You get the full first charge back whether you used the app for an hour or for the full 14 days.
4.1 Email [email protected] with the subject line Refund. You can also use the support contact link inside the app, which opens an email to the same address.
4.2 Please send it from the email address you use to sign in to NikaQuant, and include:
4.3 Never send us your full card number or a screenshot of your card. We don't need it.
4.4 If we can't match the request to a payment, we will ask you for more detail. A request that reaches us inside the 14 days counts as on time, even if we need a few extra days to find the payment.
4.5 We aim to reply within 1 business day.
5.1 5 business days. Once we approve a refund, we issue it through Stripe within 5 business days. "Business days" means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
5.2 Bank posting time. The money goes back to the original payment method. After we issue it, your bank or card issuer usually takes another 5–10 business days to show it on your statement. That part is outside our control. We can send you the Stripe refund reference if your bank asks for it.
5.3 Your subscription ends. When we refund under the guarantee, we cancel the subscription. Paid features end at that point and your account drops to Free. You will not be charged again unless you subscribe again.
5.4 Your data. A refund or cancellation does not delete your account. Files you analysed are parsed and stored in your own browser, and they stay there. Data held in Cloud sync (a Pro and Premium feature) is not silently moved or deleted when you drop to Free, but you may lose access to paid features that use it, so export what you need first. PDFs and share images you already downloaded are yours to keep. To have your data erased, see our Privacy Policy (nikaquant.com/privacy/).
6.1 Subscriptions renew automatically each month on the same date as your first paid charge, at the plan price at that time, until you cancel. We will give you notice before any price change, as set out in our Terms of Service.
6.2 No partial-month refunds. Outside the 14-day guarantee, monthly charges are not refunded, in whole or in part, including for months where you did not use the app, unless the law requires it or we made a billing mistake.
6.3 Billing mistakes. If we charged you twice, charged the wrong amount, or charged you after you cancelled, tell us. We will refund the wrong charge in full, whenever you notice it, within the time limits allowed by the card networks and the law.
6.4 Service problems. If a paid feature is unavailable for a long period because of a fault on our side, contact us. We will look at a fair credit or refund case by case. This does not limit your legal rights if the service is not as described.
7.1 In the app: sign in at app.nikaquant.com, open Settings → Plan → Manage billing. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal for your account, where you can cancel, update your card, see invoices, or switch plan.
7.2 By email: if you can't sign in or the portal won't open, email [email protected] from your account email and ask us to cancel. We will cancel it for you and confirm by email. A cancellation request we receive before the renewal time counts, even if we act on it later.
7.3 What cancelling does. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You are not charged again. You keep paid access until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account drops to Free. Cancelling on its own does not trigger a refund. If you are still inside the 14-day guarantee and want your money back, ask for a refund as in section 4.
7.4 Cancelling a trial. If you cancel during the 7-day trial, you are not charged. Pro access ends no later than the end of the trial.
7.5 Deleting the app data in your browser, uninstalling the Bridge EA, or simply not using NikaQuant does not cancel a subscription. Cancel in Manage billing or by email.
8.1 You can switch between Pro and Premium in Settings → Plan → Manage billing.
8.2 When you switch, Stripe works out the price difference for the rest of the current billing month (this is called proration) and shows it to you in the portal before you confirm. [Plan-change proration behaviour — to be confirmed by owner from Stripe Customer Portal settings: whether an upgrade is charged immediately or on the next invoice, and whether a downgrade takes effect immediately with a credit or at the end of the period.]
8.3 Any credit for unused time created by a downgrade is applied to your future NikaQuant invoices. It is not paid out as cash, unless the law requires it.
8.4 Switching to Premium during the Pro trial: Premium has no trial of its own. [Whether a switch during the Pro trial ends the trial and charges Premium immediately, or keeps the trial running until day 8 — to be confirmed by owner from Stripe Customer Portal settings.] Whenever your first paid charge happens, the 14-day guarantee starts from that charge.
8.5 Moving to Free means cancelling your paid plan (section 7).
9.1 If a renewal charge fails (for example, an expired card or insufficient funds), Stripe will retry the card and email you so you can update it in Manage billing. [Payment retry schedule and number of retries — to be confirmed by owner from Stripe settings.]
9.2 While payment is overdue, we normally keep your plan active so you can fix it. If the payment still fails after the retries, the subscription is cancelled and your account drops to Free. Your data is handled as in section 5.4.
9.3 You remain responsible for a charge that was validly due for a period in which you had paid access. We do not add late fees.
10.1 Please talk to us first. Email [email protected] (subject: Refund). Inside the 14 days the refund is yours anyway, and outside it most billing problems are fixed faster by email than by a dispute.
10.2 Opening a chargeback or dispute with your bank does not take away any right you have. But while a dispute is open, we may suspend paid features on the account, and we may share relevant account and billing records with Stripe and the card network to respond to it.
10.3 If the dispute is decided in your favour, that is your refund. We will not also refund the same charge a second time. If it is decided in our favour, we will restore access for the period you paid for.
11.1 Who this applies to. If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK and you buy as a consumer (not for your business), the law gives you a right to withdraw from an online contract within 14 days without giving a reason. In the EU this comes from the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as implemented in your country. In the UK it comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
11.2 When the 14 days start. The statutory withdrawal period starts on the day the contract is made: the day you complete checkout for a trial or a plan.
11.3 Immediate access. NikaQuant is a digital service you can use straight away. At checkout we ask you to (a) expressly request that the service starts immediately, inside the withdrawal period, and (b) acknowledge what that means for your withdrawal right. [Checkout consent and acknowledgement wording, and how it is captured on Stripe Payment Links — to be confirmed by counsel.] If you give that request and acknowledgement:
11.4 In practice, our guarantee does better. Our 14-day money-back guarantee gives a full refund of your first paid charge, with no deduction for use, and runs from that charge rather than from checkout. For a Pro trial, that means the guarantee runs until 14 days after day 8, which is longer than the statutory period. So for your first paid charge, we will not keep a proportionate amount, even where the law would let us.
11.5 In addition, not instead. The money-back guarantee is a voluntary promise. It is given in addition to your statutory rights, not instead of them. If the statutory right gives you more in a particular case, the statutory right applies. The same goes for your legal rights if the service is faulty or not as described.
11.6 How to withdraw. Tell us clearly that you want to withdraw before the 14 days end, by email to [email protected]. You can use the model form below, but you don't have to. We will refund any amount due without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your notice, to the original payment method, at no cost to you. Our 5-business-day processing target in section 5 applies as well.
Model withdrawal form (only fill in and send if you want to withdraw):
To: NikaQuant, [Legal entity name], [Registered address], [email protected]
I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract for the supply of the following service: NikaQuant [Pro / Premium] subscription
Ordered on (*) / received on (*): ____
Name of consumer(s): ____
Address of consumer(s): ____
Email address on the NikaQuant account: ____
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is sent on paper): ____
Date: ____
(*) Delete as appropriate.
11.7 Other countries have their own consumer laws (for example, US state automatic-renewal laws, or Australian Consumer Law). Where those give you more than this policy, they apply.
12.1 Currency. Prices are in US dollars (USD) and we charge in USD. Refunds are issued in USD for the same amount we charged. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts it. Exchange-rate differences and any foreign-transaction fees your bank charges are between you and your bank, and we can't refund them.
12.2 Taxes. Where VAT, GST or sales tax applies, it is added at checkout based on your billing location and shown on your invoice. A full refund includes the tax we charged on that payment. Any partial refund (for example, under section 6.3 or 11.3) includes a matching share of the tax.
12.3 Business customers. If you gave a valid VAT number and were charged under the reverse-charge rules, no VAT was charged, so none is refunded. Updated invoices or credit notes are available from Manage billing or on request.
We may refuse a money-back guarantee refund (but never a refund the law requires) where:
If we refuse, we tell you why. You can reply and ask us to look again.
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a charge is the one in force on the date of that charge. If a change makes refunds or cancellation less favourable to you, it will not apply to a charge already made, and we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the app before it applies to future renewals. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
